Greetings from somewhere over Alaska. I have been watching the in-flight map for a few hours and it looks like we are finally getting close to flying over the ocean. Our time at JFK didn't exactly go as planned. The airplane we were supposed to fly from NY to Tokyo never actually left Japan for the U.S. We would have had to wait at least 10 hours and then possibly still have to spend the night in NY if we didn't get on another flight. JAL was able to put us on a flight to Tokyo with another carrier, BUT our luggage was already checked through to Hong Kong on the delayed flight. Confusing, I know! Basically we are now en route to Tokyo and then HK...2 days ahead of our luggage!! CRAP!! We felt it was the right move though...we didn't want to waste time and we just wanted to get to HK. There's really nothing in our luggage we need. Our photos for the next few days will be of us in the same clothes...oh well... I did pack a change for Avery though. Clean clothes are overrated!
I started to get a little stressed when we couldn't figure out where our terminal was at JFK. Mike told me to imagine that we were on the Amazing Race and I felt better!
Avery is doing great. Her breakfast today consisted of potato chips, junior mints and fruit loops. I guess we won't be getting any parenting awards for nutritious eating this trip. We have 7 hours and 40 minutes til we arrive in Tokyo. We are just starting to get a little antsy.

sounds very healthy!!!! This is quite a trip....
ReplyDeleteEnjoy it!!!!!You guys look great!!!
